In a previous post (Righteousness Exalts a Nation ) I shared from God's word how righteousness and unrighteousness can affect us as individuals and as a nation. Today I wanted to just share a short word on leadership and how that connects with being righteous.
Prov. 29:2 "When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, But when a wicked man rules, people groan. "
Some people are diminishing the role of proven character in leadership and opting instead to lift up people into leadership who promise them the world. But according to God, you shouldn't choose who will lead according to what they claim they will do for you, but instead you should pray for God to raise up leaders who are righteous first and foremost. whether in the home or in the community and nation, we need righteous leaders who will stand for what is right in God's eyes both in their public and personal lives and let the chips fall where they may.
Now, if I've raised a few questions in your mind feel free to leave a comment. I will continue with this topic in subsequent posts until I feel I've said enough. Just try to make your comments short and to the point. Thanks !

Welcome to TheNightIsComing.com
The title of this blog is inspired by the words of Jesus to His disciples in the Book of John.
John 9:4 We need to be energetically at work for the One who sent me here, working while the sun shines. When night falls, the workday is over.
The posts here may cover many areas of life and many issues but it will always be the goal of this writer that in everything I will work for the One who sent me here while there is still time.
Jesus Is Returning ! Knowing that, how shall we now live ?

Yes, this is so true! I definitley know who seems to be the most righteous candidate to me...
I don't mean to be obtuse, but haven't we been here enough times to realize that God doesn't make the decisions, we do when we vote?
My reasoning, if God did, then wouldn't we have what everyone has been praying for already?
The righteous get shot unfortunately...seems the world doesn't really want this.
Don't mean to be negative, I'm just in a mood over the whole election process...
re: wayne
Good point. I believe it is both. As a Christian it's my God-given responsibility to pray and then, since this is a democracy, I cast my vote. I wasn't meaning to imply that we sit around and do nothing. God is at work in the affairs of men.
There has been a lot of groaning the past eight years, but nobody has been listening. You can see where that has gotten this country. We need an intelligent leader, which rules McCain out.
